Sacheon’s tasty story

About Taste of
Sacheon

Mt. Waryongsan royal azalea
In May the whole mountain is covered with dark pink blossoms!
In May the pink and red royal azaleas cover the mountain and create a spectacular view along with the strange shaped rocks. It adds to the mysterious mood of paradise.
Mt. Waryongsan is made up of ninety-nine peaks of varying heights, hence the name Gugu Yeongwhabong. From the bird’s eye view, it resembles the shape of a reclining dragon, and was named Mt. Waryongsan (reclining dragon).
There is another mountain named Waryongsan in Gyeongbuk area but Sacheon’s Mt. Waryongsan here has excellent views and heights incomparable with any other mountains.
The height of Mt. Waryongsan is 799m. At its foot, there is Hallyeo Sea National Park and ridges that surround Waryong Village connect around nunatak.
Minjeombong, the highest peak overlooks the large expanse of Hallyeosudo and many islands scarrered in the blue sea. The Waryonggol in the south houses Waryongsa known to be related to the enthronement of a Goryeo king as well as the grounds of Baekcheonsa (temple),
Baekryongsa (temple), and Jeokseonsa (temple).
