Seonjilliseong Fortress in Sacheon is said to be a Japanese-style fortress constructed by the invading Japanese military forces to establish a
stronghold during the Imjin War.
Accordingly, it is also referred to as Seonjilli External Fortress.
According to historical records, there were many facilities and structures the inner and outer aspects the Seonjilliseong Fortress.

Today, only traces of the fortress walls can be seen on the low hillside, and, in the spring,
tourists are greeted by the sight of cherry blossoms fully blooming around the fortress, as if it were trying to cover its past wounds with them.
