거북선 최초 출전지 사천에서 느끼는 충무공 이순신의 발자취.. 1592년 임진왜란 당시 이순신 장군이 선진 앞바다에서 최초로 거북선을 출전시켜 왜선 13척을 침몰시키고 승전한 사천해전을 테마로 60km의 바닷길을 걸을 수 있는 도보 여행길이다.

Seonjinri-seong

Yi Sun-shin coastline walkway Course 2. The very start of the First Turtle Ship road is Seonjinri-seong (fort). Sacheon’s Seonjinri-seong (fort) was built to provide a fort for the Japanese troops invading Korea during Imjinweran (Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592). It was also called Seonjinri Weseong by some. Now all that remains of it is traces of where it stood on a low hill.

Jongpo Village

Jongpo village boasts the view of wide mudflat. It is a small village located in Ryonghyeonmyeon of Sacheon and you can sometimes see people harvesting oysters in the back of beautiful sunset. Jongpo Village emerges as you walk along Yongjeoncheong with reed fields toward the sea.

Sacheon Bridge

Seopomyeon Jahyeri in east Sacheon and Ryonghyeonmyeon Jumunri in west Sacheon are connected by an arch-shaped bridge. Seopomyeon and Ryonghyeonmyeon is divided into east and west by Sacheon Bay. Sacheon Bridge helps save KRW 20 billion in logistics cost by connecting Hadong and south shore to the west of Sacheon Bay and Sacheon and Goseong to the west as well as promotes the regional advance of Southwest Gyeongnam.

Daepo Village

Daepo Village attracts many visitors every July and August with gizzard shad festival! Daepo Village is famous for its gizzard shad and boasts cool Southeasterly winds. Hanyeo is a large boulder that sits at the bottom of the sea in front of the village and emerges only during low tides Village. The village used to be called Hanyeo but was recently renamed to Daepo. Just as in the Moses’s miracle, the low tides brings out Hanyeo and connects the large boulder with land.

Mojarangpo

Samcheonpo used to be called Mojarangpo. Mojarangpo is a place fequentlyl mentioned in General Yi Sun-shin’s battle diary. General Yi rested here in the night of his victory at Sachoen Haejeon. The coastal road next to wide expanse of mudflats is ideal for bicycle or drive course.

Mochungsa (temple)

The sign for Mochungsa (temple) can be seen past the Songpo agricultural industrial complex from Mojarangpo. Mochungsa (temple) is located in Mt. Gaksan and boasts deep pink azaleas that bloom all over royal tomb. Mochungsa (temple) is located in a place with a great view. It offers a sweeping view of the Sacheon Bay ocean. Let’s now move onto Mochung Park that commemorates the achievement of General Yi Sun-shin and offers a resting area for the residents.

Mochung Park

Mochung Park is a municipal partk connected to Songpodong coastline and is also called Turtle back as its landscape resembles the back of a turtle. The lower area of the Park overlooks the sea and Seonjinri-seong (fort). You can see the entrance of Noryang along the stream of Hallyeosudo. General Yi Sun-shin spent a night here during Imjinweran (Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592) after his victory at Seonjin Haejeon. Nosan Lee Eunsang sought this area to record General Yi’s achievements in his biography of Yi. Thus, this place boasts rich history and beautiful sights.
